HCE 2012 Conference - Wellness Theme

sponsored in part by OntarioLearn and EmbanetCompass

The Central Region is pleased to present our 2012 CE Conference taking place June 4, 5 and 6 at The Kingbridge Centre in King City (www.kingbridgecentre.com).

Check the program page for a complete breakdown of conference activities. More specific information about each scheduled event will be added to the program page as plans are confirmed and finalized.

Our key note speaker is Diana Tikasz, MSW RSW, an Associate with Compassion Fatigue Solutions. Diana has worked in the area of Employee Assistance Program counselling where she has specialized in working with individuals who are feeling stressed by their personal and/or work life. Her passion is to assist people in creating personal changes that promote health. Refer to the program page for Diana's bio. Diana will follow up her keynote with a Wellness in the Workplace Plenary Session on Tuesday morning.

We'll have three cracker barrel sessions early Tuesday afternoon where we'll all have an opportunity to participate in each session to share best practices around supporting our part time faculty. Refer to the program page for more information about the cracker barrel sessions.

We'll also take full advantage of our beautiful location with an outdoor activity late Tuesday afternoon. Lighthouse Nine will lead us in a geocaching session. Get ready to find some treasure!

Our awards banquet will end the day Tuesday, so we encourage everyone to consider submitting a nomination for the Conny Awards, the JD Stewart Memorial Leadership Awards and the HCE Hall of Fame. Information and instructions can be found on the awards page.

Wednesday morning we'll provide a variety of different Shepell-fgi workshops and everyone will have an opportunity to participate in at least two. We'll end our conference with a draw for prizes and box lunches for everyone to take with them as they leave.
